Chronicle: Veteran broadcast executive Tom Stoner passed Oct. 19 from pulmonary fibrosis. He was 88. Stoner Broadcasting at one point owned Country stations KSO-AM/Des Moines; KHAK/Cedar Rapids, IA; WYRK/Buffalo and WHWK/Binghamton, NY. He also co-founded American Tower. Former WYCT/Pensacola, FL midday host Kerena Carr passed Oct. 22. She was 40. Carr left WYCT last year (CAT 12/12/21) to move closer to family in Pennsylvania. On WYCT's Facebook, PD Brent Lane writes, "I know she believed God always had a plan and I know she is in a better place, but she will be missed and remembered by the many she made smile with her words, hugs and laughter." A celebration of life will be held Oct. 27 at 10am at United Lutheran Church, 167 Seven Points Road, Sunbury, PA, 17801. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to United Lutheran Church or Northumberland Children and Youth Charity Fund (322 N. 2nd Street, Sunbury, PA 17801). WACO/Waco, TX morning co-host Jim Cody passed this morning (10/25) after a battle with liver cancer. Cody had co-hosted mornings with PD Zack Owen for 30 years. A fundraising event for his family will continue as scheduled Oct. 29 at K&W's Bar & Grill in Woodway, TX. The family's GoFundMe account is still active here. Local coverage here; no word on services.
