Clear Channel Cuts: As reported earlier via Breaking News, Twitter and Facebook, Clear Channel initiated long-rumored layoffs this morning in its medium and small-sized markets, occurring two weeks after CC announced its Regional Market Manager and Regional Program Manager structure. The cuts number in the dozens and are happening across all formats and departments. A company spokesperson says the strategy  "leverages Clear Channel's unmatched resources to serve our local listeners, advertisers and communities better – there will be more localization, not less. At the same time, it offers new opportunities for our best on-air and programming talent to be heard in more places and grow their careers." For the complete statement, click here.
