Bridges Stepping Down: Cumulus/Detroit Dir./FM Programming & Country WDRQ PD Robby Bridges is leaving the cluster at the end of the year to be closer to his family. Bridges has spent the last 11 years with the company, the last four in Detroit, and he tells Country Aircheck the decision to not renew his contract was entirely his. "I do plan to move back to Providence to spend more time focused on my family, but one thing I do know is both our company and our stations here in Detroit are poised for even greater success," Bridges wrote in a memo to staff. "Also, knowing they are left better than I found them and left in the best of hands, is a great feeling as I leave the Fisher Building for the last time." Bridges joined the cluster from Cumulus Hot AC WEBE/Bridgeport, CT, where he served as PD/mornings (Breaking News 4/10/2014). Prior stops include Hall's WCTK/Providence and various Oldies, Hot AC and CHR stations with CBS Radio, Citadel and Clear Channel in Boston, Providence and New York. He can still be reached here. Expect a job posting from Cumulus/Detroit soon.
