CKDX To Country
Flip In: Evanov Soft AC CKDX/Toronto flipped to Country this morning at 9am as "Hot Country 88.5" with Steven Lee Olsen's "Hello Country" as its first song. "After assessing the market and its various needs, we determined there was a large unfulfilled demand for a local Country music station in this part of the greater Toronto area,” says Pres./CEO Paul Evanov. The signal covers the northern portion of Canada's largest market, which has been without a Country station since then-CISS flipped to Top 40 in Feb. 1999, though CHKX/Hamilton and CJKX/Ajax, ON also reach parts of the market.
CKDX will carry Evanov's Hot Country Mornings with Tracy Lynn and Chris "Cruise" Pottie in afternoons, both of whom are also heard on the company's three other Country stations in Ontario. Audacy's Katie & Company and Rob + Holly will be carried in middays and evenings, respectively. Stream here.
