'The Big Time's' Whitney Allen To Retire
Whitney Allen25.jpg

In Good Time: The Big Time and The Big Time Saturday Night host Whitney Allen will be retiring at the end of the year, capping a 46-year radio career. Her shows will also end at that time, with her final broadcast scheduled for New Year's Eve. "I approach this date with gratitude for ... our incredible affiliates, sponsors, and of course, our listeners," Country Radio Hall of Fame member Allen says. After radio jobs in California markets Eureka, Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Diego and Los Angeles – and working "every format from AC, to Rock, CHR [and] Nostalgia" – Allen found her "calling in country music, where I have stayed since 1994." She launched her first syndicated show America's Hot List in 2005, and three years later created The Big Time Saturday Night and subsequent weekday version, which eventually grew to 180 affiliates. Reach Allen here. Reach  Dir./Operations & Creative Services Steve Ringgold here. Reach outgoing producers Justin Michael here and Tim Winebrenner here, both of whom are seeking new opportunities.
