Standing Outside The Fire:
Things got interesting for Entercom KSON/San Diego as their CountryFest Christmas concert was Saturday (12/9) at the Del Mar Arena. "We had to modify the entrances," says OM Kevin Callahan. "The same facilty was housing 1,000 rescued horses." Low dew points and high winds created "perfect conditions for the fires," according to Callahan. "The fires are now 60% contained." KFRG/Riverside's Scott Ward reports, "We lost power at our second transmitter for 92.9 in the Temecula Valley. The Lilac fire came 20 to 30 feet from it, right to the fence line. Our chief engineers couldn't get past the fire lines until Friday, but there wasn't any damage."
