WCOL's Johnson Retires:
iHeartMedia WCOL/Columbus, OH Woody And The Wake Up Call host Derald "Woody" Johnson retired today (12/17). Johnson has been in mornings on WCOL since early 2000, save for one year spent outside of the industry. He has recently been handling the shift remotely after relocating to Las Vegas and states via his LinkedIn, "My tank's not empty, and I'd love the opportunity to put my wealth of experience and knowledge to work. Consulting, part-time sales, even voiceover work are all opportunities I'd entertain." Listen to Johnson's on-air retirement announcement here. iHeartMedia/Columbus, OH SVP Michael McCoy tells Country Aircheck, "Woody is going to continue to be a part of the WCOL morning show on a daily basis with his Birthday Bust and special segments from Las Vegas." Co-hosts Dan Zuko and Kayla Hanley and producer Dylan Gonzalez remain.
