DeYoung Departing Mornings
iHeartMedia WPOC/Baltimore morning host and Country Radio Hall of Famer Laurie DeYoung announced Dec. 21 will be her final daily show on the station. In comments made on her Facebook page, she explained she will continue to be involved with the station on a limited basis, including a weekend show beginning in February. DeYoung joined WPOC in 1985 following stops in Grand Rapids and San Diego, and became the first female to lead a major market Country morning show in 1988. DeYoung is the longest-running Country morning show talent in a PPM market, a two-time CMA Personality of the Year (1994 and 2014) and became the third woman to be inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2010. No word on plans for mornings at WPOC.
