Blake Up Call: Townsquare's KQBR (99.5 The Bear)/Lubbock, TX has re-launched as Blake-FM, installing the Folger Media-created format which emphasizes a New Country music position and personality via imaging. The station joins co-owned KATP/Amarillo, which made a similar change in January (CAT 1/17).  Like its Amarillo namesake, Lubbock's edition of Blake will be consulted by Folger and assisted by KJKE (Jake-FM)/Oklahoma City PD Kevin Christopher. The station is running jockless, but Christopher tells Country Aircheck live and local talent will be added soon. In the most recent ratings period for the market (Fall '11), 'QBR shifted 5.2-4.0, trailing Wilks' KLLL, which moved 11.1-10.3. Check out KQBR's stream here.
