Pinch For Luck: As reported last night (9/29) via Facebook and Twitter, Cumulus co-COO/EVP Jon Pinch, who was set to retire at the end of November (CAT 9/4), has been named MM for Cumulus/Atlanta. "This makes perfect sense for the stations and for me, personally and professionally, so retirement will have to wait," Pinch says. "To say the position amounts to downshifting for me sounds almost comical, but the lifestyle change with far less travel allows me to spend my time at home in Atlanta and continue to work in the industry I love – so it's best of both worlds." The six-station cluster includes Country combo WKHX (Nash FM) and WWWQ-HD2 (Nash Icon). The position has been open since Jeff Brown's promotion to Corporate SVP in April (CAT 4/29).
