Wake Up Chuck: CBS Radio WYCD/Detroit afternoon co-host Chuck Edwards will move to mornings alongside co-hosts Rachael Hunter, Steve Grunwald and Jason Raithel Aug. 17, succeeding Dr. Don Carpenter, who stepped down earlier this week (CAT 8/5). Edwards has co-hosted afternoons with Linda Lee for 16 years; he spent 15 years at KSCS/Dallas prior to that. "What's not to be excited about?" he says. "A premier morning show foundation is in place – I'm ready to build on that ... and looking forward to this opportunity to evolve my career. However, gotta admit, I will miss those enticing late night infomercials!" Adds OM/PD Tim Roberts, "Chuck has an incredible knowledge of country music, the artists and our core fans. His chemistry with Rachael, Grunwald and Jason will continue to make our fans smile each morning with a great, entertaining and fun wake-up with WYCD." Reach Edwards here. News on his replacement in afternoons is expected next week. Lee will remain as co-host.
