Zarling Joins Sony/Nashville:
Big Machine Label Group SVP/Partnership Marketing & Promotion Strategy John Zarling has joined Sony/Nashville as EVP/Marketing & New Business, reporting directly to Chairman/CEO Randy Goodman. "I have spent my entire career working with and studying some of the Nashville music business' true visionaries," says Zarling. "After a long partnership as part of Scott Borchetta's launch team at Big Machine over a decade ago, literally writing our own rules and building a dream from the ground up, it is an honor to be able to join the team that Randy Goodman has put in place at one of Nashville's most iconic labels. Having always made artists and music my priority, being able to foster the incredible roster of legends, superstars, breakout stars and developing artists that make up Sony Nashville's roster thrills me." Zarling has been with Big Machine since its 2005 launch. He was promoted to his latest position there in late 2013 (Breaking News 11/4/13). Previous stops include Mercury Nashville, MCA and DreamWorks. He starts his new job tomorrow and can be reached here.
