Big Changes:
Today's restructuring at Big Machine Label Group looks to be a headcount-neutral move with the Dot Records promotion staff absorbed primarily into the Big Machine team (details here). The expanded Big Machine team is led by Interim GM Jim Weatherson, who continues as GM for Nash Icon.
Dot launched almost exactly three years ago (Breaking News 3/24/14) as a joint venture with Republic, though artists Tucker Beathard and Carly Pearce were signed through BMLG, facilitating their move to the Big Machine roster. Questions remain as to the ultimate dispensation for Dot as an imprint, staffers including Dot GM Chris Stacey and artists Maddie & Tae and Aaron Lewis. Stay tuned.
