Langmyer Leaving:
Scripps/Milwaukee VP/GM Tom Langmyer will leave the company when the cluster is sold to Good Karma Brands later this year (CAT 7/27). He joined the group in 2013 after stops at Tribune, CBS Radio and Cox, among others. In Milwaukee, Langmyer was instrumental in flipping Adults Hits WLWK to Country in 2015 under the market-famous call letters WKTI (Breaking News 5/29/15) "As someone who started in radio at age 14 at a Country station, 'KTI Country is very special," Langmyer tells Country Aircheck. "This home-brewed station has proven that live and local radio with a strong commitment to the community can win. And there's nothing better than country music and country's fans."
In a memo to staff, Langmyer says, "I will leave Radio City with a fond place in my heart for you and these terrific stations. I'll continue to be a cheerleader for the team and for you, individually, for more chapters of personal and group success." Reach him here. Following Langmyer's departure, Scripps VP/Radio Steve Wexler will join Good Karma as Milwaukee GM. The move will be a return for Wexler, who began his career at cluster News/Talk WTMJ in the late '70s. He led the group as VP/GM from 2007-14 when it was under Journal ownership.
