Hear Yee Yee: As reported via Breaking News, Wheelhouse's Granger Smith will take over as host of Premiere Network's nationally syndicated After MidNite next month, following yesterday's announced departure of Cody Alan (CAT 12/7). “We couldn’t be happier to welcome a multiplatform talent of Granger’s caliber to our Premiere family,” says Pres. Julie Talbott. “His unique point of view as a Country music artist will undoubtedly resonate with our loyal listeners, and we’re confident he’ll bring a new level of energy and excitement, and a connection with people that will really shine on After MidNite."

The move also coincides with the end of Premiere's collaboration with CMT as the CMT branding will be removed from After MidNite and syndication of CMT Radio Live will end Dec. 31. Smith is the third permanent host in the history of the show, which was founded by Blair Garner in 1993 and hosted by him until June 2013 (CAT 6/10/13). After a series of guest hosts, Alan took over in Nov. 2013 (CAT 11/26/13). Following the end of his run with Premiere, Alan will remain with CMT per a statement from the company via Dir./Communications Ali Marszalkowski which reads, “Cody Alan is a valuable member of the CMT family, most notably remaining as host of the top-rated weekend show CMT Hot 20 Countdown with a just-announced contract renewal into 2022. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Cody into the new year and beyond on a variety of projects.”
