Radio & Records:
As reported via Breaking News, Arista VP/Promotion Josh Easler and publishing/label vet Joe Fisher are joining Records/Nashville as EVP/Promotion & Commercial Strategy and EVP, respectively. Easler will oversee promotion and commercial strategy for the label's roster – including Records/Arista's Matt Stell, who is now a Records/Nashville artist exclusively – while Fisher's focus will be signing and developing talent. "We are so excited to be leveling up and raising the game with our efforts in Nashville and country music," says Records Co-Founder & Partner Barry Weiss, to whom Easler and Fisher report. Adds Easler, "I’m excited to work with this amazing group of executives on breaking the next vanguard of country artists." "I’m immensely honored to join the Records team and kick off this new chapter," echoes Fisher.
Easler joined Sony/Nashville in 2006 after seven years at WKLB/Boston. He rose to his most recent position in 2016 (CAT 2/24/16). Reach him here. No word on plans for the open position at Arista. Fisher spent most of his career at UMG/Nashville, joining in 2007 (CAT 1/23/07) and rising to VP/A&R. He most recently worked with Justin Timberlake's Villa 40 label and founded Boom Music Publishing with Keith Urban and Ross Copperman in 2017.
