WOKK Morning Team Departs: Mississippi Broadcasters WOKK/Meridian, MS morning host Ken Stokes (a.k.a. The Kenman) has officially retired after being diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer in August (CAT 9/13) and co-host Cara Shirley is leaving Nov. 11 for an opportunity outside radio. Stokes has been on-air in the market since 1983 and with WOKK for two decades, and Shirley joined mornings in 2020 (CAT 3/20/20). A Facebook page has been established to follow Stokes’ health journey here. Reach Shirley here. WOKK PD Todd Berry tells Country Aircheck he will be looking to hire a new morning duo; official job postings are forthcoming.
