KNUC Drops Country:
At 9am PT today (2/14), Hubbard KNUC/Seattle flipped formats to Adult Alternative as KPNW, ending five years of the format on the signal; the call letters had been applied for last week (CAT 2/7). The Country format ended with George Strait's "The Cowboy Rides Away." PD Scott Mahalick remains; no word on other potential staff changes. KNUC flipped to Country Dec. 4, 2017, hours after long-time Country station KMPS flipped from Country to Soft AC. KNUC finished 16th with a 2.4 in the Nielsen Holiday book, behind 13th place Audacy KKWF's 3.1.
