KBEQ Moves
KC & The Sunrise Plan: Steel City KBEQ/Kansas City debuted The Morning Drive with Jenny Matthews & Todd Nixon today (1/8), co-hosted by incumbent Matthews and PD Nixon, who had been in mornings on an interim basis since the departure of Mike Kellar (CAT 9/13/23). Concurrently, midday host Joe "Tater" Cavanagh announced on Instagram that he will be leaving the station at the end of March to pursue songwriting in Nashville. Nixon tells Country Aircheck he is looking for an APD/MD-level talent who can take over the shift. Matthews joined KBEQ from sister Top 40 KMXV (CAT 10/28/19), while Nixon and Cavanagh are both marking their seventh anniversaries with the station this month (CAT 1/3/17). Reach Cavanagh here and Matthews here. Résumés and airchecks for the midday opportunity can be sent to Nixon here.
