Corey To Detroit: Former Beasley Country National Format Brand Mgr. and WKLB/Boston PD David Corey has joined Cumulus/Detroit as Dir./FM Programming for the cluster that includes Country WDRQ. He succeeds Lance Tidwell, who exited in February (CAT 2/10). "David brings with him his incredible credentials, sterling reputation and impressive track record for stations within our format," says VP/MM Steve Finateri. The position includes oversight for both ‘DRQ and Hot AC sister WDVD. Corey left Beasley last year (CAT 6/1/20) after both parties could not come to terms on a new contract. He joined in 2017 (CAT 5/31/17) and was elevated to his final post the following year (CAT 11/6/18). Corey previously spent more than a decade with Canadian-based Bell Media overseeing programming for the company’s 105 radio properties and handling day-to-day programming for Hot AC CHUM/Toronto.
