Goodman, Hodges, Robold To Sony: No one will comment officially, but several sources close to the situation have told Country Aircheck that the long-rumored executive leadership transition at Sony/Nashville is imminent. Label vets Randy Goodman, Ken Robold and Steve Hodges are expected to be confirmed at some point this week. The moves follow the departure of Sony/Nashville Chairman/CEO Gary Overton, who stepped down after nearly five years in the spring (Breaking News 3/17).
Goodman spent 16 years with RCA, where he rose to EVP/GM. He further served as founding President of Lyric Street (1997-2010) and as Rascal Flatts' day-to-day manager (2013-15). Goodman is a past CMA Board President and former Co-Chair of Nashville's Music City Council. Robold served as President of Zac Brown's Southern Ground Artists for more than a year until leaving as part of a restructuring last May (CAT 5/8/14). Prior to that, he served as EVP/GM of UMG/Nashville until its acquistion of Capitol and EMI Nashville (Breaking News 10/9/12). Hodges joined Capitol as a regional in 2006, eventually rising to SVP/Promotion for Capitol and EMI Nashville. He narrowed his focus to Capitol promotion upon the merger with UMG (CAT 10/26/12). Hodges left the label at the end of 2014 (Breaking News 11/13).
