Swap Machine: Beasley KCYE/Las Vegas (102.7) and sister Hot AC KVGS (107.9) will swap frequencies June 24 at 10am PT. Concurrently, PD/midday host Shawn Stevens will move to mornings replacing Jeff & Aimee In The Morning. Jeff Kurkjian transferred to a similar role at sister WXTU/Philadelphia earlier this month (CAT 6/2), while Aimee Thomas will remain on the 102.7 frequency to co-host its new morning show with market veteran Shawn Tempesta. Paul Knight will return for his third stint with the station to cover middays; he first started with KCYE in 2010. Emmanuel "Ransom" Garcia remains in afternoons.

This will be the third frequency the Coyote brand has been on in the market; it originated on 104.3 in 2005 before moving to 102.7 in 2009 (CAT 5/29/09). The current frequency (102.7) is licensed to Boulder City, NV and transmits with 99,000 watts from Black Mountain 16 miles south of downtown, while KCYE's new 107.9 home is licensed to Meadview, AZ with 100,000 watts from Senator Mountain in Mohave County, AZ - more than 50 miles southeast of Las Vegas. However, 107.9 does operate a 2,500 watt on-channel booster from The Strat Tower (formerly Stratosphere) near downtown to effectively cover the city. KCYE finished 14th with a 2.9 share and a cume of 141,300 in the May Nielsen PPM ratings, behind iHeartMedia's KWNR, which was 11th with a 3.4 share and had a cume of 165,800 (PPM 6/15).
