
Bits & Pieces: Radio One KKBQ/Houston has continued its "93Q Power Hour" pop-up appearances as more than a million residents remain without power after Hurricane Beryl (CAT 7/9). KKBQ personalites have been visiting hard-hit areas with water and charging stations. “We wanted to do more than just report on the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, we wanted to be there for our community in a tangible way,” says OM Travis Moon. “Bringing charging stations, cold water, and some friendly conversation is a small way we can make a big difference for our listeners.”

Sheridan Media Classic Country KWYO-AM/Sheridan, WY celebrated 90 years on the air July 9. The station is the second oldest in Wyoming, and originally broadcast out of a furniture store. KWYO-AM aired a variety of programs and music until eventually focusing on Country by the late '70s. In 1997, the station moved to Oldies before adopting its current format just over a decade ago.
