Entercom And Collected: Former CBS Radio/San Diego SVP/MM Bob Bolinger has been named VP/GM at the newly-minted Entercom cluster, obtained yesterday when the acquisition of Lincoln Financial Media closed. The 30-year market veteran left CBS Radio a week ago and succeeds Rick Jackson as the head of the three station group that includes Country KSON. As reported yesterday (7/14) via Breaking News, the Dept. of Justice cleared Entercom's purchase of LFM when Entercom agreed to swap four Denver stations, including newly acquired Country KYGO, with Bonneville for Classic Rock KSWD/Los Angeles and $5 million. That deal is pending FCC approval, while the Entercom-LFM sale is expected to close in a few days.

Along with Bolinger, Entercom has named three other incoming VP/GMs of its new properties: Former Radio One RVP/Texas Doug Abernethy in Miami, ESPN/Chicago Dir./Sales Mike Fowler in Atlanta and Peter Burton, who maintains his existing role in Los Angeles. "Today we are taking a really big step forward to expand our company and create a multitude of new growth opportunities for our future," said President/CEO David Field in a memo to staff. "Our increased size and scale makes us stronger in a number of ways and opens new doors of opportunity. And we were able to structure these acquisitions in a manner that enables us to remain one of the financially strongest companies in the business, preserving the capacity and flexibility to invest boldly in our company’s future."
