I'm Going Home:
Singer/songwriter Amanda Daughtry will join Curtis WQDR/Raleigh for mornings alongside incumbent host Mike Wheless as the Q Morning Crew Sept. 7. She succeeds Janie Carothers, who stepped down in March after nearly 15 years (CAT 3/19). Daughtry is a North Carolina native who most recently spent a decade in Nashville pursuing music before moving back to her home state in March. “We’ve been inviting guest hosts and candidates to sit in with Mike the last couple months while we continued our search, [and] Mike has known Amanda for a while now,” PD Mike Biddle tells Country Aircheck. “The on-air chemistry was obvious on day-one, and [we received] overwhelming reaction from listeners.”
