Name's Harrison: Lots of moving parts in Nashville and Chattanooga following today's official word (Breaking News) that iHeartCountry man-of-many-hats Gator Harrison will helm the Nashville cluster as SVP/Programming. As expected (Hot Air 8/31), he'll program WSIX, starts immediately and will relocate to Music City, according to Regional SVPP and iHeartCountry Brand Manager Rod Phillips. "Gator built his network and experience in the industry from the ground up and his proven track record makes him perfectly suited to lead our Nashville station brands’ programming," says Regional Market President Dan Endom in the official release. Adds Harrison, "The Tennessee community has been great to me throughout my career, and I can’t wait to make them proud in Nashville."
Outside the official statement, an interesting first day on the job for APD/MD/night personality Ryan McKiddy (CAT 8/19), who wasn't welcomed at the door by the guy who hired him – the departing Michael Bryan. More on Bryan below, but how's McKiddy taking the shakeup? "Sweating in the corner of the garage right now," jokes Phillips. "Actually, this is a perfect start for Ryan and Gator to hit the ground running together. We are all very excited."
