Chiang Helms Cox Country: Cox/Houston OM & Country KKBQ PD Johnny Chiang has been elevated to Format Leader, and KKBQ APD/MD Christi Brooks has been named PD for Country sister KCYY/San Antonio, as Format Leader, Cox/San Antonio OM & Country KCYY PD Jeff Garrison exits. His last day was yesterday (10/19). KKBQ afternoon personality Caitlin “CJ” Johnson has been named APD/MD succeeding Brooks. Garrison, a Country Radio Hall of Fame class of 2019 inductee (CAT 2/13/19), moved to Houston in 1993 to work with KKBQ before stops in Greenville, SC and Phoenix. He returned to Houston to become then-CBS Radio VP/Country and, since 2013, has called San Antonio home serving as Format Leader for Cox’s six Country stations (CAT 8/28/13).
