Lake House:
Former Scripps/Milwaukee VP/GM Tom Langmyer has launched Great Lakes Media Corp. to acquire radio and digital properties in small markets, focusing on New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. "Over the years, the shifting economy and technology had ended an era of localism in media," Langmyer says. "Today, people are once again in search of real community and the greater connection that comes with being a part of a 'place.' Local media builds that connection – particularly in smaller markets." Appointments of officers and partners are expected in the weeks ahead. Langmyer left Scripps/Milwaukee with the cluster's recent sale to Good Karma (CAT 8/24). Prior stops include Tribune, CBS Radio and Cox. Learn more about Great Lakes here. Reach Langmyer here.
