Tidwell Leaves Radio:
Summit WZZK/Birmingham PD/afternoon personality Lance Tidwell has left after seven months and is stepping away from radio. “I don’t have any regrets about a 30-year career, but I do remember a time when radio was very different,” Tidwell tells Country Aircheck. “The changes to our industry ... are what they are, but they aren’t what drew me to the business, and they aren’t what I signed up for 30 years ago.” Tidwell plans to remain based in Alabama and will pursue opportunities outside of the industry. He joined WZZK in April (CAT 4/22) following time in Detroit; Ft. Collins, CO; Kansas City; Tucson; San Antonio; Hartford, CT; Seattle; Boise; and Memphis. Reach Tidwell here. No word on plans for the position.
