Who Got JR?
As reported via Breaking News, Cumulus KSCS & KPLX/Dallas OM/PD JR Schumann has been named Sr. Dir./Country Programming for SiriusXM, succeeding John Marks, who stepped down in September (CAT 9/11). Schumann will also be responsible for the satcaster's Christian channels and Elvis Radio. "JR's incredible passion and enthusiasm for country music, along with his competitive vision and world-class programming skills make him the ideal person to lead our Country platform," says SVP & GM/Music Programming Steve Blatter. Adds Schumann, "There aren't words to describe how excited I am about joining the SiriusXM team! For SiriusXM's programming leadership to trust me with these enormous brands is beyond humbling!" Schumann joined Cumulus/Dallas from Cox's WWKA/Orlando in early 2014 (CAT 3/27/14) and has prior stops at KYKX/Longview, TX and WZZK/Birmingham. He starts Dec. 28, will relocate to Nashville and can be reached here. The Dallas position will be posted soon.
