Akando Attitude: Get the scoop on Triple Tigers' new promotional arm, Akando Music, read how Keith Urban can keep you from thinking about life outside his concerts, and how Big Machine's Brian Kelley can keep coming up with album after album. It's all in Monday's (6/30) Country Aircheck Weekly.
Right Claws: Triple Tigers is adding a second promotion team, to be known asAkando Music, and hiring Magnolia Music Group Dir./Audience Platforms JC Coffey as Sr. Dir./National Promotion. Triple Tigers co-Pres. Kevin Herring says, "With more and more artists vying for radio exposure, Akando will serve as a valuable resource, offering an option for artists without a Country radio promo team."
Herring and Triple Tigers VP/Promotion Raffaella Braun will oversee Akando, while Coffey will direct day-to-day operations and promotion efforts. Additional hires are expected. Coffey joined Magnolia in a newly-created role last year (CAT 2/16/24) after previous promotion jobs with Show Dog Nashville and Big Machine. Prior radio stops include Community/Elmira, NY; WOKQ/Portsmouth, NH; and WTHT & WPKQ/Portland, ME. Reach Herring here, Braun here and Coffey here.
