Randy Land: As reported earlier via Breaking News, former EMF Contemporary Christian SVP/Radio Randy Chase has been appointed Summit SVP/Programming and Country WCYQ/Knoxville, TN PD, based in Knoxville. As SVPP, he succeeds the recently departed Beverlee Brannigan (CAT 6/16), and at WCYQ, he fills the vacancy created upon Loyd Ford’s departure last year (CAT 9/3). Chase joins the company leadership team and in addition to WCYQ will oversee Country stations WZZK/Birmingham; WQNU/Louisville, KY; WKHK/Richmond, VA; KTTS/Springfield, MO; and KFDI & KFTI-AM/Wichita, KS. He reports to EVP/Programming Bill Tanner. “[Randy’s] ability to innovate in our industry and drive consumer engagement are attributes we are particularly excited about,” says Chairman/CEO Carl Parmer. Prior to his seven years with EMF, where he exited in March, Chase spent seven years as Cox Country Format Leader and KCYY/San Antonio PD/afternoon host before his 2013 departure (CAW 2/19/13). Previous career stops include Double-O Radio/Columbia, SC; Guaranty/Baton Rouge, LA; Sony Music Entertainment; Curb and KRTY/San Jose. Chase will be on the job June 22 and can be reached here.
