Steer-less In Seattle: As reported via Breaking News, Hubbard KNUC/Seattle flipped to Adult Alternative as KPNW, "Seattle's Home For Music Lovers," this morning (2/14). After The Bobby Bones Show, George Strait's "The Cowboy Rides Away" played as the final song before the 9am PT flip. The new station, which applied for the KPNW call letters last week (CAT 2/7), targets non-commercial Adult Alternative KEXP, which was the top non-Christmas music station in the Holiday ratings with a 5.2 share.

In a post on its now-deleted Facebook page, KNUC bid farewell to its listeners, saying, "Thank you for being part of Bull nation for the last four years. We enjoyed every moment of it and were grateful to be a part of your lives." Soon after, crosstown Audacy KKWF posted on its Facebook page, "Less Country music is never what we want. We are sad to see 98.9 The Bull turn off today. However, we are here for you ... and we welcome you to the Wolf family with open arms."

Hubbard/Seattle OM Scott Mahalick remains on board at KPNW as Dir./Brand Content and tells Country Aircheck, "We are recruiting for new talent for KPNW and want to thank those who have contributed to the success of The Bull – leaving the Seattle market as the No. 1 Country station adults 25-54 for the 12-month average of 2022."

Local talent on KNUC included afternoon host Bryan "B-Dub" Washington, who says, "I will miss my colleagues and friends at Hubbard/Seattle, but I am excited to focus on growing [nationally syndicated] B-Dub Radio with my partners at Skyview Networks on a full time basis!” Reach Washington here; contact Skyview here for affiliation information.

KNUC evenings were handled by Mark "TicTak" Allen, who can now be reached here. Middays were voiced remotely by sister WIRK/West Palm Beach morning co-host Chelsea Taylor, and clustermate Top 40 KQMV midday host Deanna Cruz tracked overnights.
