All Jacked Up: As reported this morning in Breaking News, Charlotte radio vet Jack Daniel has been named PD of Beasley's WSOC/Charlotte and WBCN-AM & W234BY "94.7 Smoke," which he joined in March (CAT 3/21) for afternoons. Concurrently, Philip "Big Sexy" Tabakelis has been named APD and Mimi Wheeler has added MD responsibility to her roles as Asst. Digital PD and Assoc. Morning Show Producer. "This is going to be an incredible team who will work hard, have fun and continue the long-running legacy of the radio station," says Beasley/Charlotte VP/MM Bill Schoening. "I am looking forward to seeing all of the exciting and creative work they will all produce." Daniel has more than 47 years experience in radio and has been on-air in Charlotte since 1975. Tabakelis joined the station in 2006 in promotions and became the night show host in 2009. Wheeler joined in June from WQDR/Raleigh (CAT 6/12).
