The Da Vinci Coach:
Former Cumulus Nash Dir./Programming & WKDF/Nashville PD John Shomby has joined United Stations’ daily five-hour daypart show, Backstage Country, as Talent Relations Consultant. United Stations becomes a client of Shomby's already-established programming and talent consulting firm. “The team that brainstormed Backstage Country always imagined this show to be a ‘next level’ project, and the way to stay ahead of the pack is with the best people in the business; John Shomby fits that bill,” says EVP/Programming Andy Denemark. The recently launched show has been picked up by multiple Beasley Country outlets for nights (CAT 7/23) and features a different country artist hosting each week.
The move reunites Shomby with Sr. Talent/Content Producer Adrian Kulp (CAT 9/2); the two previously worked together during Kulp’s tenure as syndicated The Ty Bentli Show Sr. Exec. Producer. Shomby left Cumulus in April (CAT 4/7) after four years. He joined in 2016 overseeing the Nash campus (CAT 2/1/16) and added WKDF duties the following year (CAT 4/19/17). Prior to that, Shomby spent 14 years with Max Media/Norfolk, including Country WGH, and has prior experience in Dallas and Augusta, GA. He currently serves as CRS Vice President. Reach him here.
