Stage Coach:
Former Cumulus Nash Dir./Programming & WKDF/Nashville PD John Shomby has officially launched his own consulting firm working with artists, on-air talent and program directors. He remains based in Nashville where he has already signed United Stations’ daily five-hour syndicated daypart show Backstage Country among his first clients (CAT 10/1). Shomby has also developed a Radio 101 course for new country artists; early clients include new signees from BBR Music Group, Big Loud and Warner. “I will be tailoring my coaching to the individual client and situation, so specific needs get addressed with personalized solutions,” says Shomby. He joined Cumulus in 2016 overseeing the Nash campus (CAT 2/1/16) and added WKDF duties the following year (CAT 4/19/17) before departing in April (CAT 4/7). Prior to that, Shomby spent 14 years with Max Media/Norfolk, including Country WGH, and has prior experience in Dallas and Augusta, GA. For more information, visit his website here or email him here.
