Ford To AMS: Cumulus WNSH/New York middayer Kelly Ford will join Blair Garner to co-host America's Morning Show. She will relocate to Nashville, starts Jan. 4 and will work alongside Chuck Wicks and Robin Meade. Departing the show are Erika Grace Powell, who started with its 2014 launch (CAT 2/5/14), and Ashley Figueroa, who joined in early 2014 from WWKA/Orlando (CAT 3/7/14).
"Kelly is the consummate professional and she is very much identified with the Nash brand," says SVP/Content & Programming Mike McVay. "She was the first voice on WNSH/New York. Her move from middays to mornings is logical, given her long and very successful history as a morning talent in markets such as Denver. She’s been a regular co-host fill-in on America’s Morning Show with Blair Garner."
Ford spent 22 years at KYGO, departing in 2012 (CAT 8/31/12). She joined WNSH in 2013 (CAT 2/21/13). "My whole Country radio career has led up to this fabulous opportunity to wake up loyal and passionate country fans across the United States," she says. "Big thanks to Mike McVay, Maire Mason, Chad Lopez and John Foxx for believing in me and in the continued growth of Nash."
Garner adds, "Her talent for relating to today’s Country listener is unparalleled. Real. Funny. Unpredictable. Dedicated. Coupling Kelly's qualities with the wit and humor of Chuck Wicks will make for an incredible team."
